We drove through lively villages and saw stunning views of a beautiful landscape.
Simandou iron ore mine
Later that week, Hans was invited by another customer on the opposite side of Guinea. He flew there in a company aircraft. A one-hour trip instead of an impassable 24-hour drive each way. This site is home to the world’s largest iron ore mine, called Simandou.
Modified vehicles
At Simandou, there’s a stockpile of iron ore - a natural rock and mineral from which iron is extracted - that will last about 75 years of mining. For this project, we won a tender for around one hundred specially modified vehicles, which we previously shared about.
Specialized partners
Hans met with the technical department and many contractor clients working for the main contractor. In fact, a single mine often involves five to ten other potential clients or companies with specific expertise. Such as mining, road construction, maintenance, rail installation, or servicing.
Food supply
Feeding nine thousand people on-site is also a major operation. They must be provided with meals twice a day. That’s 18.000 meals daily! Hans spoke with all involved parties, who expressed great appreciation for our service. Especially for the customized vehicle modifications we make possible!
